Cruelty Continues, Scorpion Demands President Jokowi to Stop Circuses and Wildlife Attractions (May 17, 2017)

The Scorpion Wildlife Trade Monitoring Group called on the Indonesian President, Mr. Joko Widodo to stop the circus and all wildlife attractions in Indonesia because the attractions are a form of exploitation and cruelty to the animals. The demands were presented at a rally in front of the state palace on Wednesday (17th of May 2017).


The circus and wildlife attractions including tiger circuses, elephants, dolphins, sun bears and photo prop with tigers and orangutans in the Indonesian zoos and safari parks.


"The wildlife attractions endanger human lives, and they are a form of cruelty to the animals," said Director of Wildlife Investigation Division at the Wildlife Trade Monitoring Group, Marison Guciano on Wednesday (17th of May 2017).




Scorpion's demonstration in front of the Presidential Palace in Jakarta Wednesday was tightly supervised by policemen.
