Assessment of Human-Wildlife Conflicts (May 10, 2023

Based on various reports from the public regarding macaque disturbances, the Scorpion Indonesia Foundation together with BBKSDASU conducted an assessment in two locations in Medan including at Graha Metropolitan Housing Complex, Taman Perkasa Indah Housing Complex.

Residents of the two housing complexes complained to the BBKSDASU because 4 macaques often appear and disturb chicken livestock owned by residents.

Following the assessments, two trap cages were installed in the two locations for removing the macaques to other places.


A trap cage is being installed to capture macaques which are involved in conflicts with human.
